For twenty–two years the International Workshop Festival has brought the world's most inspiring theatre makers to the UK to run workshops for all who are interested in exploring performance cultures, learning new skills, refreshing old ones, and creating new work. At the heart of our activity has been the annual London International Workshop Festival packed with workshops, demonstrations, performances and networking - a unique environment in which performance makers have come together to transform themselves, each other and the work they create. Highlights of recent festivals have included Kwoto, a group of young dancers from the Displaced Peoples Camps of Khartoum; Falos & Stercus, the Brazilian fetish circus, challenging the boundaries of erotic performance; and from Finland, the fire performance collective Flamma. We have also run a year round programme of work to showcase and support emerging performance work. This has included work developed from workshops in the London Festival and work inspired from the Festival or coming out of collaborations nurtured in the Festival. |
